The ASUS ROG Claymore II solves one of the most frustrating choices in keyboard selection: the trade-off between full-size keyboards (with numpad but large footprint) and tenkeyless keyboards (smaller but missing the numpad). The Claymore II’s revolutionary modular design lets you have both — attach the numpad for spreadsheet work and detach it for gaming, all without any tools.
The magnetic numpad module attaches to either the left or right side of the main keyboard body, accommodating both standard right-side numpad preferences and the growing number of users who prefer the numpad on the left for improved mouse ergonomics. The connection is both physical and electrical, maintaining full functionality and even continuing the RGB pattern seamlessly across the join.
The keyboard uses ROG RX Red optical-mechanical switches, which combine optical actuation detection with a traditional mechanical keystroke feel. These switches actuate via light beam at 1.5mm travel with a linear, smooth feel, offering significantly faster response than traditional mechanical switches. The actuation time is rated at just 0.2ms, competitive with the best switches available.
Wireless performance comes via ROG Polling Rate Booster at 2.4GHz with up to a 1000Hz polling rate, and the keyboard also supports wired USB-C connection. The 100-hour battery life with RGB off is exceptional for a full-size wireless keyboard. ASUS Aura Sync per-key RGB can be synchronized with the entire ROG ecosystem for a unified lighting experience.
